Jennifer Martin spent ten years working at Houston-based oil and gas title firms prior to joining R. Reese & Associates in 2021.  Her experience includes hundreds of original, supplemental, acquisition, and division order title opinions, as well as the drafting of various mineral- and land-related instruments and curative materials.  Although her work in recent years has largely focused on Haynesville title, she is well versed in examination in the Permian, Barnett Shale, and Eagle Ford areas with experience in other Texas plays and multiple other states.  Jennifer joined RR&A to grow the land/title side of the firm and looks forward to helping us provide expert-level title analysis in an efficient manner, tailored to meet the different needs of each client. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Houston in 2007, she attended law school at St. Mary’s University and went on to get her LL.M in Energy and Environmental Law from the University of Texas in 2011. In addition to Texas, she is licensed in North Dakota, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Jennifer credits the mentorship she received at St. Mary’s and her first job at Labanowski & Associates with giving her a drive to provide the same experience to law students and new attorneys.  Beginning in 2021, she has served as an adjunct professor at both the University of Houston School of Law and South Texas College of Law, teaching a unique class based on examining, drafting, and understanding the Texas oil and gas lease. In her work at the firm, she endeavors to create an environment where law clerks and new attorneys can build solid foundations for their careers. Outside of the office, Jennifer volunteers with several literacy-based organizations.  She also enjoys traveling, regular spin and yoga classes, and is an avid sports fan.
